The SVG Podcast: Craig Barry, EVP, Production/Chief Content Officer, Turner Sports (Plus a Recap of CES)

We talk ELEAGUE, March Madness, and UEFA Champions League with the sports-media exec

As is par for the course, the first few months of 2018 are absolutely loaded for the team at Turner Sports. The NBA All-Star Game, March Madness, and the NBA Playoffs put the network on center stage. Plus, the network is set to produce, later this month, its biggest esports event to date with ELEAGUE Major in Boston.

SVG Chief Editor Jason Dachman caught up with Craig Barry, EVP, production/chief content officer, Turner Sports, on the floor of CES in Las Vegas last month to discuss everything from what innovations are coming from esports production; what’s to come from Turner’s UEFA Champions League deal, which kicks off this summer; and how the network — at times — takes a unique approach in its programming.

Dachman also provides a quick update on all the big sports happenings from this year’s CES and explains how voice, AI, and more could be shaping sports-video production in the very near future.

The SVG Podcast is for the sports-video–production professional looking to keep up with the latest in sports-video–production operations and technology. The program features interviews with some of the biggest, most influential names in the sports-video business talking trends and topics that are making an impact on the industry.
