Auburn University Selects Imagen Media Portal to Manage, Distribute Athletics Video

Auburn University has selected the Imagen media portal to manage and distribute its latest college sports highlights to local and national TV networks, as well as providing rapid access to archived content through a secure web portal.

Auburn’s dedicated video sharing platform enables logged in users to search and play back game highlights, as well interviews, press conferences and exclusive behind the scenes footage. Power users are able to create clips, make collections and download high resolution files ready for broadcast. The self-serve video platform offers plenty of choice, delivers a feature rich user experience time and is a great time saver for local journalists and production teams.

The athletics department originally commissioned the platform and trialed Imagen during last years’ football season. After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from media partners, as well as staff, students, and alumni, Auburn have decided to use Imagen to expand their video library to now include basketball and all athletic disciplines.

“We were looking for a platform that not only would give our partners easy access and a great experience, but it was also important that it would be easy for the production team to add new content and manage a growing archive with simple tools,” says Weston Carter, Director of Video Services at Auburn Athletics Dept.“Imagen gives us the best of both – and shows us who is using our video.”

Imagen’s audience analytics feature in particular has been incredibly useful; offering surprising insights into a content reuse that is spread across the whole of the US rather than just the neighboring states and local TV stations as was first imagined.

“We were given a very tight deadline – the system needed to be up and running for the beginning of the fall football camp,” Nick Ashwin from Imagen adds. “That gave us three days to spin up, test, and go live. Because Imagen is a cloud based platform which can be quickly deployed and easily configured to suit a wide range of production workflows, we were able to launch a fully branded service in a matter of hours and start serving Auburn’s customers with time to spare.”
