fuboTV Upgrades Apple TV Interface

The sports-first live steaming TV service fuboTV continues to improve its UI and UX across platforms, upgrading its tvOS app.

With this upgrade, fuboTV subscribers will see on Apple TV:

  • Enhanced EPG (electronic programming guide) featuring a new vertical design with the ability to look up to seven days ahead.
  • Network Pages that allow viewers to surf content via the EPG/Channel view, but also the new Network view, by selecting a network of their choice and seeing all of its available Live & VOD content. (Note that in addition to Apple TV, this feature is also now available via the web.)
  • New Player UI with Play/Pause that give viewers the ability to pause live streams and resume at any point.

According to the company, fuboTV is the top-grossing sports app on Apple TV (and number seven overall, behind only Netflix, Hulu, HBO, CBS, SHOWTIME and STARZ), as well as a top 10 free sports app on the platform.

Since launching out of Beta on Apple TV with a significant upgrade in October 2017, usage of fuboTV on the platform has more than doubled. (In fact, from October to January, the share of overall fuboTV usage across all TV connected devices has grown from approximately 30% to more than 50%.)  Additionally, on Apple TV in December vs. November 2017, fuboTV experienced 53 percent growth in average hours streamed per user per month.
