University of Minnesota Adds Daktronics LED Displays To Athletes Village

The University of Minnesota has continued a long partnership with Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, by recently installing two new LED displays at the main entrance to the new Athletes Village on its Twin Cities campus.

“The Athletes Village is a project of firsts for our athletics department and the new Daktronics LED displays are certainly firsts for our programs,” says U of M Athletics Director Mark Coyle

“These displays give us the chance to share schedules, updates and news about the accomplishments of our student-athletes in a unique way, something we have never previously had near our everyday facilities. We appreciated Daktronics partnership to bring this element of the Athletes Village to life.”

Both long, narrow ribbon-style displays feature 6-millimeter line spacing for crisp clear imagery. One display measures 2.5 feet high by 51.5 feet wide and the other measures 2.5 feet high by 55.5 feet wide and are positioned to promote upcoming campus events and other messages.

Spanning half inside and half outside of the building, these displays provide full-color, engaging branding opportunities for the university and the athletic department to engage guests and passersby at the entrance to Athletes Village.

“These new displays will bring light to the university’s Athletes Village in a unique and interesting way,” says Daktronics Sales Representative Joey Hulsebus.

“It is a great way to extend our long-standing relationship with the University of Minnesota as we continually look to help them achieve their new messaging objectives in different and exciting ways.”
