Univision Deportes Launches Year-Round Youth Soccer Initiative With US-Hosted International Tournaments

Univision Deportes announced the creation of a new year-round initiative in support of youth soccer in the United States called the Prospects Series. In 2018, UDN will partner with four of the most important international youth tournaments to produce and/or broadcast the games. As part of the partnerships, Univision Deportes will also provide well known experts and anchors for each of the broadcasts.

“Univision Deportes is the home of soccer in the US and we are committed to supporting the growth of the beautiful game in this country,” says President of Univision Deportes Juan Carlos Rodriguez. “By launching the Prospects Series platform in partnership with these premier tournaments, we aim to elevate youth soccer and provide an unprecedented showcase, contributing to the advancement of the sport for the next generation of players and fans.”

Tournaments that will air under the UDN banner will vary in ages from U-12 to U-19 will include:

  • The Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup, the oldest international youth soccer tournament in US with over 4,000 elite players, held in Texas from March 25 to April 1.
  • The NEXEN Manchester City Cup, which draws more than 400 top-level boys’ and girls’ teams to San Diego from May 24-28)
  • Concacaf youth tournaments and other international tournaments where youth national teams compete for a spot in FIFA Youth World Cups
  • Prospects Cup, which is produced by Univision’s UCI Live and premiered last year and features the best U-12 players from around the globe, bringing in 260 young athletes and drawing millions of viewers and fans across both cable and digital.
