NAB 2018: Primestream To Showcase 4K/UHD Workflow

Primestream launch its new 4K/UHD workflow at NAB 2018, enabling users to capture 4K/UHD files and live SDI streams then seamlessly move that content through to production, management and delivery.

Powered by a new media processing framework and media player recorder, the 4K workflow further offers flexibility through automated proxy creation, along with performance enhancement, allowing users to preview 4K content natively inside the clip window or preview a playout stream in full screen and high resolution. Other benefits include streamlined editing workflow, giving users the ability to edit-while-capturing in Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro with a growing timeline and two-way metadata communication.

Primestream will also demonstrate 4K playout of ProRes in QuickTime or MXF via SDI or through IP. Users can also playout HD/SD upscaled to 4K and rewrap 4K content into QuickTime or MXF where these formats are required.

“Customers are increasingly choosing to capture in 4K, but do not have complete workflows that support the format. We believe that the need to deliver content in 4K will soon catch up to the production and delivery requirements,” says Claudio Lisman, president and CEO of Primestream. “With our new robust 4K workflow, we are aiming to help broadcasters build an infrastructure to support the latest workflow, standards, and formats to meet industry demands.”

Primestream will start taking orders at NAB 2018 and these features, including the new Media Framework, will be delivered via an upgrade to many of the existing FORK  components.
