Daktronics Installs New Video Displays At Chicago Dogs’ Impact Field

Daktronics has manufactured and installed two new LED video displays for the Chicago Dogs at Impact Field in Rosemont, IL. The displays were recently installed and are prepared to inform and entertain fans this season.

“Fans of the Chicago Dogs can expect the greatest entertainment events in all of minor league baseball,” says Kevin Sullivan, director of game entertainment / PA announcer for the Chicago Dogs. “The video board is big, bright and clear – it will be an invaluable part of our show for everyone enjoying the game inside the stadium. Sponsors will love the display facing the tollway, where 200,000 vehicles pass daily. We are committed to providing our fans and our partners the highest quality experience possible, and our dual video displays are a reflection of that commitment.”

The new main video display in the outfield measures approximately 27.5 ft. high by 49 ft. wide and features a 15HD pixel layout. It will bring image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to fans in every seat of the ballpark.

On the backside of the main display, an identical display featuring the same measurements and pixel spacing will share messages with fans as they arrive at the stadium.

“The new displays for the Chicago Dogs will bring an amazing experience to fans both as they arrive at the ballpark and while they enjoy the live action inside the stadium,” says Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative. “This installation is unique with two of the same displays, one facing the field and another directly behind it facing the exterior of the venue. It’s very rare to see a backside display the same size as the main display for a sporting venue. We’re excited to see the final installation impacting Dogs fans in 2018.”

The displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game information and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

Daktronics will also be including its Show Control System with this installation. The system provides a combination of display control software, video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
