MLB To Stream A Game A Week On Twitter Starting April 5

A new Major League Baseball season is here as fans of all 30 teams were following every season-opening pitch on Opening Day last week. A Opening Day like this is a reminder that fans around the world will turn to Twitter to follow their favorite teams, players and chatter about the news on and off the diamond in real time.

No matter where their allegiances lie, all fans can count on Twitter for non-stop baseball action. Once again during the 2018 season, live streams of weekly MLB games will happen on Twitter.

MLB will launch its weekly Twitter game of the week April 5, with out-of-market live streaming of the Texas Rangers taking on the Oakland Athletics at 3:35 PM ET. As part of a renewed partnership with MLB, this game is the first of the weekly day-game live streams of out-of-market MLB games Twitter will make available once per week throughout the 2018 season.

The weekly games will be available in the United States for free to logged-in and logged-out users on Twitter and connected devices. Each weekly stream will be a simulcast of a participating team’s local television broadcast. Twitter will offer advertising packages for the content to be made available to sponsors.

Again this year, MLB will also make real-time game highlights available for fans from @MLB on Twitter throughout the season, offering additional ways to follow all of the baseball action this season at home or on the go. Spanish highlights will also be available from @LasMayores throughout 2018.
