Brainstorm Is Hiring a Systems Engineer

Brainstorm, a specialist company dedicated to providing industry-leading real-time 3D graphics and virtual set solutions, is looking for a Systems Engineer for its US office. Since 1993, Brainstorm is a company with a global reach, internationally oriented and committed to innovation, working with some of the largest broadcasters in the US including CBS, CNBC, Disney, ESPN, NBC, Reuters, WWE and many others.

Location: US Remote, Home Office
Core Responsibilities: In this position of Systems Engineer, you will provide a wide range of technical support activities focused on assisting the sales and marketing functions in achieving the primary aim of selling products and services on a face-to-face basis throughout the USA and Canada.

Whilst ultimately responsible to Brainstorm’s CTO, you will report to the VP Sales for USA and Canada on a day to day basis to carry out essential tasks to assist in all technical aspects of pre-sales and post-sales support of the business development activities.

This includes the following core functions:
Provide pre-sales technical support for clients and/or resellers to include:
Assist in providing web and onsite demonstrations, PoCs and technical support in promoting and evangelizing Brainstorm’s product offerings.
Assist in the preparation of system proposals including diagrams and other supporting technical documentation.
Form part of the proposals team in presenting and recommending solutions which best meet client requirements.
Perform the functions of a Project Manager for specific requirements, coordinating the technical management and integration of the component parts of the system and interfacing as required with Brainstorm personnel, as well as third party suppliers, the client and/or reseller.
Manage and set up all demonstration equipment for trade shows, events, demonstrations and PoCs. Manage logistics and shipping of equipment for all such events.
Manage post-sales technical support activities as directed by the VP Sales:
Ensure installations progress to meet deployment expectations on time.
Provide technical and creative support, including training for existing clients.
Manage technical and operational complaints according to Brainstorm’s Quality Management System.

As a technical point of contact in the US and Canada for Brainstorm:
Regularly engage with Brainstorm Product Managers to ensure in-depth and up-to-date understanding of all Brainstorm products, their capabilities, features, toolsets, strengths and weaknesses as well as supported third-party hardware and software.
Assist with building the structure, content and implementation of Brainstorm’s presentations and demonstrations.
Evaluates the competition, their products, feature sets, strengths and weaknesses.
Reviews trade publications and keeps up with technological developments in the market.
Proactively engage with customers, partners, the reseller channel and designers to build relationships and a strong network of user advocates.
Provide close tactical and strategic support and training in order to educate, inform and motivate indirect sales and technical support organizations.

Core competencies:
The characteristics of the job are all focused on raising greater awareness and market share of Brainstorm’s products and services in the USA and Canada.  Working internally with other members of the Sales, Marketing and Production Services Departments, as well as with the Product Manager and R&D personnel where necessary, you will be tasked with the job of assisting the sales process and of producing technical sales support material to communicate to the market about Brainstorm’s products and services, with the objective of providing collateral focused on the core objective of expanding sales in a consistent and sustainable manner.

Skills, experience and personal characteristics required are:
Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Proficiency also in Spanish would be highly regarded.
Broadcast industry knowledge and experience, preferably in live graphics production and camera tracking systems.
Knowledge and experience with broadcast equipment and signal routing – setting up cameras, video cards, converter boxes etc.
Strong IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Products.
Ability to network and build strong relationships with clients, resellers and partners.
Ability to communicate and develop relationships with clients at the highest levels.
Strong presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work individually and as a team player.

Willing to travel up to 60% of the time
Valid Passport
Valid Driver’s License
This is a remote – home office position.
This position does require handling and setting up equipment which can be lifting up to 50lbs or wheeling 100lb road cases.
