Mobile TV Group Launches 43 FLEX and 43 VMU

Mobile TV Group has launched the 43 FLEX and its companion, 43 VMU (B-unit). This adds another two-trailer system to MTVG’s fleet that is deployed in major NBA/NHL/MLB markets from coast-to-coast.

“We are determined to proliferate our state-of-the-art mobile units throughout the United States, by building at least two new pairs of trailers every year,” says CEO Philip Garvin. “In doing so we have two objectives: First, is to pack them with the latest technology to provide the best experience for our clients and those watching at home, and second, is to locate them regionally in most major markets to minimize the cost of travel.”

43 FLEX is so-named for its flexibility.  For regional productions, the two-trailer system allows both the home and visitor productions (two separate feeds) to be in their own trailers, but to easily share all sources and equipment.  The super slo-mos, for example, are accessible by both shows. For national productions, the “A” trailer can function on its own or in conjunction with the powerful “B” unit.

Like all MTVG’s new launches, 43FLEX will have four super slo-mo cameras as well as a dozen normal 720p/1080i/1080p cameras – all HDR.  Also on-board: A GV Kayenne K-Frame switcher, a 64-fader Calrec Artemis Beam mixing console, a 578 x 1152 Evertz router, and 52 channels of EVS.  43 FLEX and 43 VMU (B unit) will operate out of Denver, Colorado, serving the Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche, and Denver Nuggets, as well pro & college teams in surrounding states.

Mobile TV Group manufactures it units – including 43 FLEX – at the company’s sprawling factory south of Denver.  The plant includes wood, laminate, and metal fabrication rooms as well as a spacious wiring hall. A full time staff of cable and installation technicians are dedicated to high quality and efficient manufacturing.  MTVG starts with an empty chassis from Gerling Assoc. and completes all aspects of the interior in-house.
