DNA Studios Builds Company With Acquisition of Legacy Sports Productions

DNA Studios has acquired the assets of Texas-based Legacy Sports Productions (LSP). The acquisition adds to the DNA Studios production capabilities, which provides mobile production facilities, packaging, and studio services.

The acquisition and combined entity will deliver close to 300 games and events in 2018 including college football, college basketball, Major League Lacrosse, Major League Rugby, and continuing to produce games for ESPN, CBS Sports Network, FOX Sports regionals, The MLB Network, ATT Sports Southwest, Eleven Sports, and many more.

Sam Schrade will continue as the CEO of DNA Studios. Jim Barton will become VP of Sales and will focus on a “coast-to-coast” strategy. DNA Studios will now have 7 available units varying from trailers to 53 ft. expandos.

“Combining the assets of DNA and Legacy is a perfect and natural fit,” says Schrade. “Since both organizations produce live sports and entertainment programming, we saw a synergy that made both teams stronger. Our equipment complement really has the client in mind and we look forward to serving our existing and new clients.

Legacy Sports Productions has provided streaming and broadcast operations for 20 years.

“We are very excited about this acquisition with DNA Studios,” says Barton. This transaction will provide networks and regionals an instant benefit to the constant and ever-changing landscape of sports programming. We look forward to being the largest Texas-based truck company.”

“This agreement will greatly boost the production capabilities of DNA Studios. We will have positioned ourselves to have traditional trucks as well as two REMI studios in our 3,000 square foot building in Houston that has connectivity to most of the major networks,” says Schrade.
