InfoComm 2018: Sennheiser Bolsters Audio Products With Help of Several Partners

Sennheiser (Booth C1660) has made a multiple announcements related to conferencing solutions at InfoComm 2018 in Las Vegas, including expanded partnerships with Crestron and BlueJeans.  

Sennheiser and Crestron strengthen cooperation on conferencing solutions
Sennheiser announced that its new TeamConnect Ceiling 2 ceiling microphone will be fully compatible with Crestron’s control system platform. Sennheiser’s open Sound Control Protocol (SSC) is planned to be used in different Crestron APIs to allow remote monitoring and configuration. This includes TeamConnect Ceiling 2 — which will support remote access to audio parameters, mute, and customizable LED control.

TeamConnect Ceiling 2, which is launching in Q4 2018, features automatic adaptive beamforming technology, enabling it to focus on the voice of a speaker in the room — regardless of their position. The ceiling microphone also offers support for Dante networks and Power over Ethernet and will be fully compatible with Crestron’s control surfaces and interfaces — bringing enormous control and flexibility to enterprise installations.

SDW 5000 Series and BlueJeans Videoconferencing
Sennheiser’s booth will feature Blue Jeans Network, the provider of video-based meetings platform for the modern workplace, the first cloud service to connect desktops, mobile devices, and room systems in a single video meeting. Sennheiser’s portfolio of unified communications products are now fully interoperable with BlueJeans’ videoconferencing platform, including Sennheiser’s wired double-side models of the Culture, Circle and Century series as well as the wireless MB 660 headset. In addition to enabling mobile collaboration through screen sharing and cloud recording, BlueJeans’ solutions deliver Dolby Voice Audio, which is supported and enhanced by Sennheiser products.

Sennheiser will also demo its newly-launched SDW 5000 Series of headsets for enterprise environments at the show. It features 128bit authentication keys and DECT Security certification. Plus, the unit’s USB port, call merging feature, and multiple headset conferencing can be disabled in high-security environments. The headsets leverage Super Wideband sound, an emerging sound standard for headset communication, delivering brilliantly clear calls with a more natural, richer sound, in addition to superior Sennheiser fidelity when used to listen to music. The SDW 5000’s dual-microphone noise cancellation filters background noise and the own-voice-detector helps suppress disturbances in between words, for quality transmissions with minimized detractions.

Wireless system is now Dante DDM ready
The standard wireless microphone systems such as the new evolution wireless G4, SpeechLine Digital Wireless, Digital 6000, and Digital 9000 are now compatible with Audinate’s Dante Domain Manager (DDM). The upgrade is provided free of charge via firmware updates to Sennheiser’s SL DI 4 XLR Dante interface, the EM 6000 DANTE microphone receiver, and EM 9046 DAN Dante card for the Digital 9000 wireless microphone system.

Offering complete network management for systems based on the Dante multi-channel audio networking standard, Dante Domain Manager software enables user authentication, role-based security and audit capabilities for Dante networks, while allowing seamless expansion of Dante systems over any network infrastructure. Support for DDM is provided by Sennheiser with the latest firmware updates to its SL DI 4 XLR Dante interface, EM 6000 DANTE receiver, and EM 9046 DAN Dante card.
