NFL Unveils Twitter Campaign for 2018 Season

Twitter and the NFL kicked off the 2018 season by announcing a new lineup of NFL Media shows to stream live on Twitter all season long:

  • The Checkdown, NFL Digital Media’s football culture brand, expands to a live show streaming on Twitter every Thursday and Sunday from 7:45-8:15 pm ET to engage a young and differentiated audience and drive them into the Thursday Night Football and Sunday Night Football matchups that follow. Hosted by a rotating cast of personalities including NFL Network host Colleen Wolfe (@ColleenWolfeNFL), NFL Network analyst James Jones (@89JonesNTAF) and comedian Megan Gailey (@megangailey), The Checkdown aggregates the buzziest conversations happening throughout the week on social to a live interactive digital audience. Gailey and Jones will serve as hosts of the first three Thursday editions of The Checkdown, as well as the regular hosts every Sunday. Starting Week 4, Wolfe will be joined by a rotation of NFL Network analysts including Michael Irvin (@michaelirvin88), Steve Smith Sr., and Reggie Bush (@ReggieBush).
  • In addition to The Checkdown, NFL Media’s Around the NFL podcast team — Dan Hanzus (@DanHanzus), Gregg Rosenthal (@greggrosenthal), Marc Sessler (@MarcSesslerNFL), and Chris Wesseling (@ChrisWesseling) — bring their unique take on NFL storylines to the Twitter audience with a new weekly live show streaming Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm ET. Combined with the reach of its hosts, the Around the NFL brand boasts a following of more than 1 million followers on Twitter.

ESPN Fantasy Focus Live
NFL fans can also get their fantasy football fix on Twitter all season long. ESPN’s sports podcast Fantasy Focus Live is streamed daily on Twitter. Each morning, fantasy experts Matthew Berry (@MatthewBerryTMR), Field Yates (@FieldYates), Stephania Bell (@Stephania_ESPN), and Daniel Dopp (@DanielDopp) provide player previews, injury reports, game overviews, and strategies, as well as featured guests and interviews, throughout the football season. The show takes fan questions and opinions, and engages the Twitter audience using key football moments and social content. Fantasy Focus Live streams live every weekday at 11 AM ET and can be accessed on Twitter via @fantasyfocus.

NFL Emojis
Twitter and the NFL unveiled hashtag-triggered emojis for all 32 teams. All 32 teams joined the fun by Tweeting about their anticipation for a new season in a league-wide Tweet thread.
