AMB Sports and Entertainment Names Karl Pierburg as VP of Technology, Data, and Analytics

AMB Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE) has elevated Karl Pierburg to vice president, technology, data and analytics to lead all day-to-day technology and analytic operations across the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United of Major League Soccer, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Pierburg, a 14-year veteran with the Falcons organization, began his career with the team as the director of football systems and special projects designing and developing systems for the Falcons personnel department and coaching staff. In his new role, Pierburg will continue to oversee the Falcons Football Technology group as well as two newly aligned groups — AMBSE Data & Analytics and AMBSE Emerging Tech. These groups will help to drive the vision and strategy for the organization through thoughtful use of insights and utilization of digital and technology platforms with a focus on new and emerging technologies and enterprise solutions across AMBSE.

“Karl is a true innovator who has played a huge role in the Falcons’ success on and off the field,” says Greg Beadles, chief operating officer, AMBSE. “Karl has elevated the Falcons’ data and analytics efforts to the very top of the NFL and we are thrilled to bring his talents to other parts of our organization and lead the charge for us to remain a leader in the technology space.”

Prior to the Falcons, Pierburg worked for the Chicago Bears as IT manager for football systems. In this role, he handled extensive development work on coaching systems and college and pro scouting systems. Pierburg is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science. He was a four-year letterman in football, earning first-team honors as an offensive guard while also being named to the academic all-conference first team.
