Comcast, Cox Communications Extend Sponsorship of the Pac-12 Conference

The Pac-12 Conference announced that tech and telecommunications companies Comcast and Cox Communications have agreed to expand their relationships with the Pac-12 to include sponsorship. Comcast’s residential services brand, Xfinity, will become the official multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) sponsor of each of the Pac-12 universities in its footprint: Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Washington, Washington State University, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, University of Colorado, and Utah University. Similarly, Cox will become the official MVPD partner of the University of Arizona and Arizona State University.

“We are very excited that Comcast and Cox, two of our founding Pac-12 Networks distribution partners, will be expanding their relationship with the Pac-12 to include sponsorship rights and promotion,” says Mark Shuken, president of Pac-12 Networks. “Their investment demonstrates our shared commitment to our ongoing partnerships, and is another positive sign of the value that sponsors see in the Pac-12 and its member universities.”

The Comcast sponsorship is highlighted by certain Xfinity media, branding, and activation rights across participating school football and men’s basketball games. The Cox sponsorship also includes certain branding and activation rights at the two participating university football and basketball games.

The announcement follows the Pac-12’s additions of new and extensions of existing sponsors and advertisers over the past several months, including GEICO, Maui Jim, New York Life, PrimeSport, and Unifi.
