Switchboard Live Appoints Sandra Arber as Chief Operations Officer

Switchboard Live announced that Sandra Arber, former VP of Business Operations at Switchboard Live, has been appointed as new Chief Operations Officer.

Over the last three decades, Arber’s career has bridged the intersection of creative content and business. After receiving her undergraduate degree from Harvard and an MBA from the University of Virginia, she went to work in various capacities in physical production (short films, daily television, and feature films), content development (scripts, plays, and television formats) to more business-related positions at Hollywood studios. In London, she held the position of Director of Marketing for the film commission where she interfaced with heads of production to promote the city as a preeminent location for filming. Upon her return to the US, she co-founded a television content development company, adapting international formats and licensing on-air series for the US market. Most recently, she was Director of Investor Relations for New World Angels, Florida’s largest structured angel group, where she developed a network of investors and other startups.

“To kick off this week of Thanksgiving, I wanted to share with you my reasons for giving thanks. First, I have been named COO at Switchboard Live! I am excited to tackle the challenges ahead and appreciate the creativity and drive shown by our team,” she wrote on her LinkedIn profile. “I look forward to working with everyone in my new role! I also want to express my appreciation for our partners Epiphan Video, DaCast, LiveU, Switcher Studio, and especially to those who have given me guidance for no other reason than because they like our platform: Daniel Stewart at Cisco, Michael Entner-Gomez at Verizon Digital Media Services, Matt Miller at Walden Venture Capital, David Daeschler at SlideWave, Adam Liposky, and John Lema at Morgan Hill Partners. Our investors Mosley Ventures, New World Angels, venVelo, and many individual angels have been especially supportive. To have closed a $1.5M round as a Florida-based company is no small feat. And finally, I am always inspired by women in the tech start up space Maxeme Tuchman of Caribu and Maggie Louie of DevCon – keep making me proud! Hoping this season and 2019 bring positive transformation to all.”

“I’m extremely excited to have Sandra take on the role of COO. I remember our initial call back in 2016, when she was still an investor at New World Angels,” comments Rudy J. Ellis, CEO and Co-Founder of Switchboard Live. “I can say with certainty, after working with Sandra since then, there is no person better suited for this job. She is a trusted colleague and fearless leader. Her appointment to this role is a perfect reflection of the company’s optimism as we close out 2018 on a high note and vigorously charge into 2019. It’s been quite a journey watching Switchboard Live transform from a 4 person start-up to an 8 person company, and I’m so happy to have Sandra in this position of leadership as we all work towards our collective goal of providing outstanding service to our customers and clients.”
