Fox Innovation Lab Releases Study on 5G Trial at U.S. Open

Study details 5G efforts in conjunction with Fox Sports, Intel, AT&T, and Ericsson at Shinnecock Hills

The Fox Innovation Lab has released a study completed together with Fox Sports, Intel, AT&T, and Ericsson highlighting their successful 5G tests project at this year’s U. S. Open Golf Championship. From the Lab to on-location, Fox Innovation Lab worked with AT&T, Ericsson and Intel in June to put 5G to the test, streaming 4K video to Fox Sports national broadcast. In the study, the Fox Innovation Lab reveals how it was able to deliver higher amounts of data with no delay and remove the cost of running fiber around the golf course.

Fox says the results proved 5G as a reliable platform, representing a revolution in the way sports broadcast and media are distributed, consumed and how viewers engage with an event. Click on the image below to view the full study.
