SVG On Demand: Big East’s Brad Zak Dissects Conference’s Success in Live Social Video

A weekly live social program, "Big East Shootaround," culminated in successful live shows from Villanova's championship run in San Antonio

Over the past year, the Big East Conference has made a concerted effort to better utilize live social media opportunities, debuting a weekly show built around the college basketball season called “Big East Shootaround.” The program enjoyed a tremendous amount of success, especially back in March when Villanova rolled to a national championship and the Big East digital team broadcast numerous live shows from the Final Four in San Antonio.

Brad Zak, the Big East’s Senior Director of Social and Digital Content chatted with SVG’s own Director of Digital Brandon Costa about what the workflows behind “Big East Shootaround” are like, what lessons he and his team have learned along the way, and if he anticipates live social playing an even bigger part in his role heading into 2019.

Assistant Editor and Social Media Coordinator Kristian Hernandez contributed to this report.
