Daktronics Equips Montana’s Missoula Osprey With New LED Video Board

Missoula Osprey fans are on deck to receive an improved game-day experience at Ogren Park Allegiance Field in Montana from Daktronics. A new LED video display has been installed in left field to provide 950 square feet of entertainment and information in 2019.

“This video board is ‘big league!’” exclaimed Osprey Vice President Matt Ellis. “The quality, the size, the technology, and the possible uses put us on par with all the Major League facilities in the country. This is a major improvement for the facility and the community. We look forward to its positive impact on the fan experience at Osprey games, but also its possible uses for the community at large. For example, a free movie night series in September and October is already planned for the community to enjoy, among other great ideas we are working on. We thank Daktronics for helping us complete this vision and their work to install it.”

The display features a 15HD pixel layout and measures approximately 26.5 feet high by 36 feet wide to engage and entertain fans during Osprey games and other special events. It features industry-leading environmental protection and wide-angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the ballpark.

“This huge visual upgrade brings a major impact to the stadium for players and fans of the Osprey,” said Brady Jacobsen, Daktronics regional manager. “It’s been great working with everyone involved in this project. The new display looks amazing and will entertain fans for years to come.”

To improve the fan experience, the display is capable of variable content zoning. This allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages.

Daktronics included its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This system provides a combination of display control software, video processing, data integration, and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.

In addition to the equipment installation, the Osprey will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
