Fox Sports Names Mathew Hathaway Chief Engineer of Southeastern Regional Networks

The Fox Sports regional networks serving the Southeast – Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Southeast, Fox Sports Carolinas, and Fox Sports Tennessee – have named Mathew Hathaway as chief engineer for the networks. Hathaway will oversee engineering design and technical maintenance of the networks’ studio production and transmission facilities. He will also manage broadcast television equipment for all live and recorded studio shows, postproduction editing suites as well as venue-based production staging and camera infrastructure.

An Emmy Award winner and patent-holder for a fully integrated portable internet-based event production system, Hathaway joins the networks after previously serving as engineering supervisor for CNN. In that role, he oversaw system maintenance and project execution of the network’s broadcast technology systems. Hathaway also served as an IP routing infrastructure expert for the network’s testing of systems and code.

Previously, Hathaway held the role of senior content systems engineer with ESPN Technology. He was a member of the SEC Network launch team and worked on Digital Center 2, the world’s first all-IP 1080p production facility. Hathaway received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He and his wife Genny reside in Atlanta with their son and daughter.
