University of Missouri-Kansas City Upgrades Swinney Center With Four Daktronics LED Video Displays

When Roos fans return to Swinney Center this fall, they will be welcomed by four new LED video displays manufactured and installed by Daktronics. The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) will welcome the installation in August.

“Creating a fan experience that is second-to-none in Kansas City is the primary focus of our entire department,” states Roos Athletic Director, Dr. Brandon Martin. “These four Daktronics LED displays are truly ushering in a new era of excitement and technology for our students, fans, and donors.”

The new technology will be hung on each side of the basketball hoops at each end of the arena totaling four displays. Each display will measure more than seven feet high by 15.5 feet wide and will feature six-millimeter line spacing to bring excellent image clarity and contrast to Roos fans throughout the arena.

“On behalf of everyone at Daktronics, we are very proud to partner with Roos Athletics to provide these new LED displays to Swinney Center,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. “These displays are sure to bring an added level of excitement on game day and we’re excited to see them up and running at the start of the season.”

Each display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show any combination of live video, statistics, graphics, sponsorship messages and more. It can show one large image or multiple zones featuring the desired content based on the moment in any given event.

Shot clocks, light strips, and locker room clocks are included with the installation to prepare the arena for collegiate basketball events.
