Soccer Summit Americas: Telemundo Deportes’ Ivi Alfaro Looks Back on the Network’s ‘Summer of Soccer’

While many people relaxed in the warm summer sun, Telemundo Deportes was one busy customer and had their hands full with the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and the Copa America in Brazil. With two competitions happening on two separate continents (and operations being anchored inside of their IP facility in Miami), both tournaments were executed on an extremely massive scale.

At the SVG Soccer Summit Americas, Ivi Alfaro, executive producer, Telemundo Deportes, spoke with our Kristian Hernandez about how the network rallied together during this tumultuous time, how other soccer-centric programming like the Premier League has gone so far, and how the momentum can continue heading into next summer’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
