Ncam Appoints Mike Ruddell, formerly of Sky Sports, as Global Business Development Director, Sports and Broadcast

Ncam Technologies has appointed Mike Ruddell who was most recently innovation manager at Sky Sports to serve as Global Business Development Director – Sports and Broadcast. Alongside the current growth in Ncam’s core markets of broadcast graphics, film and TV VFX, sports, and enterprise AR, Mike will play a key part in further developing Ncam’s presence in the sports market.

Ruddell has been at the cutting edge of sports and broadcast technology for over 19 years. Holding a degree in Broadcast Engineering, he started his career as technical director at Sky, working on a range of Sky’s news, sport, factual and entertainment studio programming. He later specialized in developing production techniques and technologies for interactive ‘Red Button’ sporting events and in 2007 moved to work solely on Sky Sports, focusing on a broad range of technology applications from behind the scenes infrastructure through workflow developments to onscreen advancements.

During five years as Sky Sports’ Head of Technology, he remodeled the approach to developing, delivering and supporting technology within Sky Sports. His most recent role at Sky Sports was as Innovation Manager where he owned the roadmap for advanced TV production process and technology for the leading sports channel.
