SMPTE NY To Host Esports Technology Innovation Event on Oct. 29

Esports-technology innovations will be the focus of a SMPTE NY chapter meeting on Oct. 29 at New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn.
Starting at 4 p.m., SMPTE panelists will meet with students from the City Tech Esports Club to discuss what it is like to work in the esports industry.
From 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., there will be networking and, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., a SMPTE panel discussion. Taking to the stage will be Sam Asfahani, CEO, OS Studios, the only esports-production facility in Manhattan; John Turner, principal engineer/owner, Turner Engineering; Charles Conroy, VP, gaming, The Switch; and Ramon Ramos, global head of esports, Vizrt.
In addition, a student-built high-tech haunted house will be open during the event to help attendees get in the Halloween spirit.
