NewTek’s Newest TriCaster Mini Is An All-IP Powerhouse for Midsize and Entry-Level Broadcasters

Leveraging NDI, the newest TriCaster brings streaming capabilities up to UHD

NewTek announced on Thursday the latest version of its TriCaster Mini, a compact and fully loaded video-production system. A smaller version of the traditional NewTek TriCaster, the Mini is an ideal solution for mid-range broadcasters, such as colleges and streamers, while also being accessible to entry-level content distributors, such as businesses and high schools.

The newest version of the NewTek TriCaster Mini will be available later this month.

“Everyone has amazing stories to tell, and video is the most powerful way to deliver your message,” said Dr. Andrew Cross, president, R&D, Vizrt Group, parent brand of NewTek and NDI, in an official release. “That’s why we strive to make it fun and exciting to create. Whether you’re a student, a corporate communications manager, or a seasoned video professional, TriCaster Mini has everything to get you going and make broadcast-quality shows you can stream to all your favorite social-media outlets.”

This newest version of the TriCaster Mini is jam-packed with new features, most notably offering an all-IP workflow (based on the company’s NDI technology] and even the ability to deliver in resolutions all the way up to 4K UHD.

“Even though a lot of customers might not be ready for [4K] today, [TriCaster Mini] is future-ready for them when they want to do that,” says NewTek Product Marketing Manager Matthew Allard.

He also notes that, although the Mini offers eight external video inputs that support any combination of sources, the ability to leverage NDI means that users can access and switch between anything that’s available to them on the network.

TriCaster Mini’s ease comes from its light weight, portability, and four plug-and-play NDI connections that also feature power-over-Ethernet (PoE), simplifying everything from video to audio, tally, power, and control.

This version of the Mini also boasts a 1-TB Solid State drive.

The newest version of the NewTek TriCaster Mini is expected to be available later this month with packages starting at $8,995.
