Esports Production Summit: Dome Productions Rolls Out New ‘Showcase Digital’ Trailer for Live Demo

The truck will house a live esports-production demo feature a 1v1 Overwatch competition

At the SVG Esports Production Summit, Nov. 19 at the Universal Sheraton Hotel in Los Angeles, Dome Productions will roll out a live-esports-production demo featuring its newly launched Showcase Digital trailer. Dome will offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at producing a 1 vs. 1 Overwatch competition.

Dome recently launched its 40-foot Showcase Digital trailer, which houses a control room and fully integrated studio with four Panasonic AW-UE150 PTZ cameras inside.

Observers (in-game camera operators) for the 1v1 Overwatch esports production will be located inside Showcase producing the action. Dome will demonstrate Showcase’s ability to shoot the live physical set featuring players Overwatch competing while the observers provide the unique camera angles from inside the game.

“Showcase is a very unique vehicle and a different format from our normal production fleet,” says Bruce Gaum, Director of Client Solutions and Technology, Dome Productions. “Showcase will be focused, but not limited to, the new world of OTT streaming. A few of the opportunities we see with Showcase is for an on-site studio shows, remote podcasts and vodcasts, sports-betting shows, as well as to house esports competition inside the trailer studio. This was carefully considered during our design process. It could also add tremendous value and engagement to enhance sponsorship and create some compelling content.”

Gaum adds that Showcase can also support media interviews, press junkets, scrums, red carpet shows, product launches, and other shoulder content. Showcase can stream live to any platform or deliver back to the broadcaster’s facility for distribution from the broadcast center. The trailer can be sponsor wrapped in order to promote the show, event, conference, brands, network, etc. for additional exposure.
