Colorado State University-Pueblo Outfits Massari Arena With New Daktronics LED Video System, Integrated Audio

When Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSU-Pueblo) fans return to Massari Arena in January, they will be welcomed with a new audiovisual experience designed, manufactured, and installed by Daktronics. The installation of a new LED video system and an integrated audio system will take place in December.

“We could not be more excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Daktronics — the best in the audiovisual business,” said Paul Plinske, CSU-Pueblo Athletic Director. “Our student-athletes and fans will experience a state-of-the-art system that will make Massari Arena one of the best places to experience a sporting event. We are also thrilled that this equipment will be used to enhance convocation and commencement activities as well as help special events and concerts for CSU-Pueblo. This is definitely a game-changer.”

The new display will be mounted to the north wall of the arena and will measure 11.5 feet high by 34.5 feet wide. It will bring high-definition imagery to fans with 5.9-millimeter line spacing featuring more than one million pixels. It is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replay, statistics, graphics and sponsor messages.

Integrated into the LED video system will be a custom audio system to bring a complete audiovisual solution to Massari Arena. The audio system will provide clear, intelligible speech combined with full-range sound reproduction to keep fans informed and engaged in every event.

Along the courtside, four LED scorer’s tables will be installed to complement the main video display with content and statistics while also offering the ability to highlight sponsors throughout events. Each table measures 2 feet high by 9 feet wide and features 10-millimeter line spacing. They can be set up in any configuration to fit the arena’s needs on an event-by-event basis.

“CSU Pueblo continues to invest in their facilities across campus and enhance their student-athlete experience, and Daktronics could not be prouder to help with these enhancements,” said Eric Cain, Daktronics sales representative. “This giant video display will have outstanding image quality and will be accompanied by a state-of-the-art, custom distributed sound system that will be sure to elevate the atmosphere in Massari Arena.”

Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
