CBS Sports HQ Sees Viewership Triple in 2019

CBS Sports’ 24/7 streaming sports news network, CBS Sports HQ delivered triple-digit viewership growth in 2019. For the full year, CBS Sports HQ was up 112% in streams and 196% in total streaming minutes compared to 2018. CBS Sports HQ’s audience has a median age of 35.

December is now the second biggest month (after February 2019) for time spent, with more than 125 million minutes streamed. On OTT platforms, unique viewers grew by 171% year-over-year in 2019, and watched for an average of 35 minutes per session in December.

CBS Sports HQ also continues to expand its talent roster, adding Sherree Burruss as an anchor beginning this week. Burruss, who will serve as a host and reporter for CBS Sports Network in addition to anchoring CBS Sports HQ, joins from NBC 4 Washington (WRC) where she was the lead anchor and reporter, covering the Capitals, Redskins, Wizards and Nationals. Additionally, Burruss served as the host of the preview show “Redskins Showtime” and was the network’s AFL sideline reporter. Prior to NBC 4, she was at WGCL-TV in Atlanta, and also spent time reporting for KMIZ-TV in Columbia, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012.
