Sugar Land Skeeters Greet Fans to Constellation Field With Two New LED Videoboards

When Sugar Land Skeeters fans return to Constellation Field in Texas this summer, they will be greeted by two new LED video boards designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics. The outfield will feature 1,452 square feet of digital real estate to inform and entertain fans at every event.

“We are beyond excited to bring the key staple of our game experience back to life before the 2020 season,” said Tyler Stamm, Skeeters general manager. “Constellation Field continues to be a premier baseball and event venue, and Daktronics long-standing history of excellence made them a natural partner for this project. The new video boards, along with game production software upgrades, will drastically improve our fan experience at Constellation Field.”

The new outfield display features a 17% increase in resolution over the previous display. It will measure approximately 25 feet high by 57.5 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout to bring excellent image and clarity to fans in every seat.

“This video board upgrade is going to improve the fan experience at Constellation Field,” said Brandon DeSmet, Daktronics sales representative. “It was great to work with their entire team on this project and we’re looking forward to providing the excellent level of service and support that Daktronics is known for to this great organization. It will be exciting to see the final installation making an impact for the 2020 season.”

A new left field ribbon display will also be installed above the manual scoreboard at Constellation Field. It will measure approximately 3.5 feet high by 33.5 feet long and will feature a 15HD pixel layout. This display can show complementary information to the main display as well as providing the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.

The outfield display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or multiple zoned images showing any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
