Gravity Media Notches 2000th At-Home Production in North America With Pac-12 Networks Telecast
The Pac-12 Networks broadcast of the USC Trojans 65-56 win over the Washington State Cougars marked the 2000th REMote Integration production that Gravity Media has successfully completed in North America. This number includes ‘At Home’ centralized productions that were undertaken under the Proshow Broadcast (acquired by Gravity Media in July 2018) and Gearhouse Broadcast (renamed to Gravity Media in November 2019) brands, and date back to April 2013.
The global provider of complex live broadcast facilities and production services to content owners, creators and distributors, has remotely covered a range of live sporting events in this time, including college football, men’s and women’s college basketball and Olympic sports such as swimming, diving, field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. The majority of these REMIs have been delivered for Pac-12 Networks and ESPN and utilizes Gravity Media’s fleet of modern mobile units that have been designed and built for ‘At Home’-style productions.

The benefits of this remote approach are obvious, with REMIs offering a cost-efficient modern workflow that is operationally flexible and durable. By centralizing the control room, video switching, audio mixing, graphics, replays and show production can all be done ‘At Home’ in the broadcast center. This means that smaller, more affordable purpose-built mobile units can be used at the venue. Only video and audio acquisition hardware such as engineered cameras, microphones and announcer headsets, as well as comms hardware, a transmission interface and engineering support are required on site.
