OpenDrives Anywhere Develops In-Home Cloud Model for Remote Postproduction

OpenDrives is now delivering OpenDrives Anywhere, an in-place private cloud model that enables customers with OpenDrives to work on the same project from multiple locations, without the compromises in performance.

With COVID-19 work-from-home mandates, subsequent sport events shutdowns and season closures, the industry and their media team have been one of the hardest hit. Studios are scrambling for solutions with a limited remote workforce that allows post-production projects to continue while maintaining social distance.

While some are opting for “remote solutions” like the cloud or at-home build-outs — which are prohibitive in collaboration and can be extremely costly and time-consuming in-home setup and implementation — OpenDrives’ solution enables customers to quickly pivot to a remote workflow. This ultimately helps maintain the same level of performance to keep projects on track and content high-quality and secure.

The OpenDrives Anywhere in-place private cloud model enables customers to work collaboratively, concurrently and seamlessly on the same project from multiple locations using their OpenDrives system. Users can also effectively manage security of media assets, while protecting the quality of large media files. OpenDrives Anywhere avoids heavy costs associated with cloud or at-home data storage use and implementation, while setup and running takes only two hours with a corporate VPN and in under 24 hours without.

“Opendrives was founded by veteran Hollywood film editors, colorists, data engineers to studio heads, and everything in-between. This gives us a unique understanding of the pain points teams are facing and the critical demand for a ‘new normal’ to keep our industry alive now and into the future,” said Sean Lee, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at OpenDrives. “We’ve done extensive testing to ensure OpenDrives Anywhere meets the same level of performance customers deserve and need… right here, right now.”
