Australia's ausbiz Leverages Vimond IO for National Launch of Channel

Australian business and financial channel ausbiz launched this month with Vimond IO as their cloud-native editing tool. The new streaming service dedicated to Australian business and finance is available free, live, and on-demand.  Located at International Towers in Sydney’s Barangaroo Precinct, ausbiz provides live rolling coverage of the Australian sharemarket, along with expert analysis and commentary across a broad range of investment opportunities.

The ausbiz iOS app and website provides a personalized experience based on the user’s investment preferences.

“While we could never have predicted the global impact of the coronavirus, the team has been working incredibly hard to get this ready, as we believe a live business service dedicated to Australia is needed now more than ever,” said ausbiz founder, Kylie Merritt.

“Whether you’re running a business or managing your personal investments, this is not the time to panic and make decisions based on rumour and speculation,” said Executive Chairman of ausbiz, David Koch. “What Australians need right now is credible, sensible information and ausbiz will bring that to TV, with access to the expertise and experience of people who’ve managed through past crises.”

At launch, ausbiz is live 10am to 4:15 pm AEDT Monday through Friday with video on-demand available 24/7.  On April 14, the live stream will begin at 8.30am for comprehensive coverage of Australian market announcements.

The team from ausbiz are the first cohort of journalists to take their broadcast content from start to finish themselves. That is, create, edit, and playout themselves, owning the entire seamless multi-platform publishing workflow. Once bulletins have gone to air, journalists will also publish VOD to the CMS and to SoMe via the same cloud-based systems.

Despite current lockdowns, the team is still able to work remotely because their workflow is in the cloud.

“When presented with the opportunity to build a newsroom from scratch we wanted to find intuitive, scalable platforms which would allow our journalists to focus on content, not systems”, says Kylie Merritt, CEO, ausbiz.

Additional core components in the workflow for the new channel,  DiNA by 7Mountains will be delivered with integration to Mimir by Mjoll, for their cloud media management.
