YES Network Takes Home Eight NY Emmy Awards

The YES Network won eight Emmy Awards during the 63rd annual New York Emmy Awards ceremony Saturday night, giving it 126 Emmys since its 2002 launch. Ian Eagle won his record fifth straight New York Emmy for Sports Play-by-Play and sixth overall for his work on YES’ Brooklyn Nets telecasts, while his Nets broadcast partner Sarah Kustok became the first woman to win a Sports Analyst Emmy in New York. Eagle and Kustok are the first broadcast team to win New York Emmys for Play-by-Play and Analyst in the same year.
“These eight Emmys span many of the key categories and speak volumes about the talent, dedication and passion exhibited by our YES Network team,” says John J. This is the third time that YES has swept Play-by-Play and Analyst Emmys in the same year, having also done so in 2017 (Eagle for Nets and Al Leiter for Yankees) and 2015 (Michael Kay for Yankees and Mike Fratello for Nets). Eagle’s five straight Play-by-Play wins is the longest streak for consecutive talent wins ever in New York. Eagle’s six total New York Play-by-Play Emmys puts him one behind Mike Emrick, the all-time leader in New York with seven.
