Digital sports content platform Sportico has made seven new hires, including sports law expert Michael McCann from Sports Illustrated, sports business journalist Eben Novy-Williams from Bloomberg News, valuations pro Peter Schwartz, and Corey Leff, who will bring his JohnWallStreet franchise to Sportico. McCann will take on the role of sports law reporter, while Schwartz will cover valuations and law, and Novy-Williams will cover sports business. All four will report to Sportico Editor-in-Chief Scott Soshnick. Additional hires include Barry Bloom, Jacob Feldman, and Lev Akabas. Bloom, Leff, and Akabas will start this week, Novy-Williams will start on May 26, while Jacob Feldman and Peter Schwartz will start on June 1, followed by Michael McCann on June 8.

“Sportico is off to a rousing start, bringing together some of the most accomplished journalists in sports business,” said Sportico Editor-in-Chief, Scott Soshnick. “With the insight of industry leader Mike McCann, and a wealth of surrounding talent and insight, Sportico from day one is assured to be the go-to resource for industry professionals. This is only the beginning.”

Earlier this year, Penske Media Corporation (PMC) announced its strategic investment in the sports business industry with the launch of Sportico, a high-quality digital content platform providing fair and dynamic sports industry news, data, information, strategies, leadership, insight and live media. Heading the venture as President and CEO is veteran sports and entertainment executive Dick Glover, with award-winning sports business reporter, Scott Soshnick, serving as the platform’s Editor-in-Chief and Head of Content.

“We’re building and establishing Sportico as the definitive source for daily enterprise reporting and insightful journalism on the sports business world,” said Sportico CEO, Dick Glover. “The team we’ve assembled, and the folks who will be joining them soon, ensures that we will be able to deliver on that promise. I can’t wait to see the work they produce!”
