Grass Valley Appoints Del Parks as Chair of Grass Valley’s GVX Customer Council

Grass Valley has announced that Sinclair Broadcast’s Del Parks has been appointed as chair of GVX, its customer council made up of globally recognized media technology leaders.

Parks is EVP and CTO at Sinclair Broadcast Group, as well a fellow of The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), and has helped build Sinclair Broadcast Group into one of the largest content creators and distributors in the U.S.

“GVX lies at the heart of our commitment to listen to and understand the needs of the market so we can develop the technology that our customers need to navigate through the biggest shift the industry has ever seen,” says Tim Shoulders, Grass Valley’s chief executive officer and president. “We are delighted that Del has accepted the position of chair of GVX. His enormous influence in the industry is critical to helping us develop a roadmap that drives the business of broadcast forward.”

At Grass Valley, Parks will lead the customer group to drive efforts to move media technology innovation forward and deliver solutions that match the challenges facing today’s content producers and distributors.

“An initiative like GVX is vital to ensuring customers are heard and have a platform to collectively drive the direction of the wider industry,” says Parks. “I’m excited to take on the role of chair and look forward to collaborating with my fellow council members and the Grass Valley team to deliver outstanding results.”

The GVX Customer Council was launched in June 2020 and convenes regularly. It discusses market conditions, technological advancements, and other themes that impact both suppliers and buyers, feeding directly into Grass Valley’s product development strategy.
