Fox Sports Inks Multiyear Content Deal With Bassmaster

Fox Sports and professional tournament fishing organization Bassmaster have reached a multiyear agreement to air the complete nine-event Bassmaster Elite Series season, along with the signature Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk, live across Fox Sports platforms beginning February 2021.

The Bassmaster Elite Series is one of seven series hosted by Bassmaster, a brand created by the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.), which was founded in 1968. During the challenging 2020 season, the Bassmaster Elite Series was still able to complete their full schedule.

“Fox Sports is excited about this unique opportunity to work with Bassmaster in elevating a best-in-class sports property to a new level and to an expanded audience,” said Bill Wanger, EVP Head of Programming and Scheduling. “It’s going to be a lot of fun showcasing the best anglers in the world competing from lakes and rivers across the country on live television.”

Fox Sports will air 10 events per season, highlighted by the Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk, with three hours of content on the FOX broadcast network and three hours of content on FS1 from Lake Ray Roberts outside of Ft. Worth, Texas, on March 19-21. For the first time in its history, the full Bassmaster Elite Series schedule will be featured on live television, beginning with the first tournament in February.

“This new partnership between Fox Sports and Bassmaster allows for more expansive coverage of the tournaments than ever before,” said Bruce Akin, B.A.S.S. CEO. “We’re thrilled to offer more exposure to our anglers, sponsors and host communities as both dedicated fans and newcomers alike eagerly tune-in to follow the action live from some of America’s best bass fisheries.”
