PGL Continues to Blaze 4K Esports Trail With First DOTA 2 Tournament Ever Produced in 4K

Starting today, PGL is broadcasting DPC 2021 SEA – Upper Division in 4K resolution on youtube.com/pgl, marking the first time that a DOTA 2 tournament has been produced in 4K.

PGL runs the SEA region and also produces the English broadcast for DPC China Upper Division for its Chinese partners, Perfect World, in 4K quality.

Last year, PGL raised the bar regarding video quality in esports at PAL 2020, which became the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament to be broadcast in 4K.

Later, in October 2020 the PGL APEX LEGENDS SHOWDOWN became the first Apex Legends 4K tournament and PGL closed the year out by producing the Quake Pro League Season 2020-2021: Stage 1 Finals in 4K.

“Here, at PGL, we label ourselves as an innovative esports company,” says Silviu Stroie, CEO PGL. “With every tournament, we try to bring new features to the esports scene. We are happy and proud to be the first tournament organizer to broadcast CS:GO, Apex Legends, Quake Champions, and DOTA 2 in 4K. The year has just begun, and I can promise that switching to 4K is not the only surprise we prepared for the viewers.”

DPC 2021 SEA started today and it will run through Feb. 27.
