UFC, Grabyo Take a Look Back at Social Content Strategy and Growth in 2020

While 2020 was a challenging year for live sport, UFC reacted quickly to changes in video consumption and a reshaped production environment that evolved throughout the year. As a result, UFC has grown its social audience rapidly by providing innovative live and VOD content formats on its social and digital channels, driving deeper audience engagement and OTT revenue. Grabyo and UFC has released a report that explores the content, tools and tactics that UFC has employed to keep its fans connected to the sport from a distance, without compromising on quality.

The report reviews UFC’s content production success across 2020, with a deep dive into how it coped with the pandemic, and numbers to show its growth. For example, the report reveals that UFC experienced 75% growth in Facebook followers, reaching 53 million, and 30% growth on Instagram, reaching 24 million. It also explores how UFC uses Grabyo, as well as the MMA promoter’s wider strategy and set up. For example, the UFC team was able to set up a quick live show to broadcast to social media during fight nights using just two smartphones and social distancing.
