HOF 2020 Inductee Sit-Down: Charles Barkley

When the SVG decided to cancel the SVG Summit last year, we also had to decide what to do with the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame ceremony. From day one, the Hall of Fame Chairman Ken Aagaard was adamant that we not hold a virtual replacement. After all, the Hall of Fame ceremony is designed to celebrate family, friends, and co-workers, and virtual just wouldn’t cut it.

That said, we did hold a small virtual reception last December where previous Hall of Famers and the voting committee had a chance to welcome the newbies and celebrate via Zoom. It was small, intimate, and, actually, great.

At the center of the ceremony was a series of interviews with the members of the class of 2020, and today we make those interviews public. Up first is Charles Barkley, the one-of-a-kind analyst, commentator, and, definitely, golfer.

Our goal was to have the honoree tell a deeper story about their career, their impact, and their mistakes. Want to know how Charles made the move from hardwood to TV and what drives him? Be sure to check out today’s video.

I also want to take this time to encourage you to donate to the Sports Broadcasting Fund. The Hall of Fame ceremony did not happen in 2020, and that means we didn’t hold the main fundraiser for our activities. We continue to do the good work of supporting those in need, but we need your financial support to continue to make that happen. Click here to donate today.
