Haivision Path Redundancy Brings Hitless Failover to Makito X4 Video Encoder, SRT Gateway

Haivision has introduced Path Redundancy, a new hitless failover feature for uninterrupted transport streaming of high value live video over more than one network path. Path Redundancy provides protection from extreme packet loss due to network interruptions or failure by assigning multiple routes for live video contentPath Redundancy receivers automatically select the first packet to arrive from either network ensuring uninterrupted video streaming of premium content.

Path Redundancy is now included with the latest version of the Makito X4 Video Encoder firmware enabling a single video source to be encoded and streamed over two or more IP network routes for hitless protection and failover. SRT Gateway has also been updated to include Path Redundancy for highly resilient video networking across public, private, and cloud infrastructures.
