MLB’s Marla Miller Transitions Away from League’s Special Events Division

Major League Baseball’s longtime Senior Vice President of Special Events, Marla Miller, has begun the transition to the group’s new leadership. For the last 21 years, Miller has orchestrated the planning and logistics of many of MLB’s most well-known and prestigious live events, including the annual All-Star Week and the World Series. Throughout her time with MLB, Miller oversaw a vast expansion of the league’s events and accompanying festivities.

Miller has been a leading contributor to many of MLB’s most recognized initiatives, including the All-Century Team, All-Star FanFest and its evolution into Play Ball Park, the “Memorable Moments” campaign, All-Star Concerts, the All-Star Red Carpet Show, the “Franchise Four” campaign prior to the 2015 All-Star Game in Cincinnati, MLB’s 2016 Fort Bragg Game, MLB’s annual Little League Classic since 2017, “MLB In Omaha” in 2019, the annual MLB Draft, and the upcoming MLB at Field of Dreams game scheduled for August 2021. She planned numerous MLB meetings and led MLB’s preparation for the Winter Meetings and other important dates on the baseball calendar.

Miller was Major League Baseball’s first female Senior Vice President. In 2011, she was named to the SportsBusiness Journal’s inaugural class of “Game Changers,” honoring women leaders in the sports business field. Miller was a 2012 recipient of the Women in Sports and Entertainment (WISE) “Woman of the Year” Award.
