Venue Edge To Supply In-Venue Experience for Upcoming Big West Conference Basketball Championships

Venue Edge is partnering with the Big West Conference during the upcoming Air Force Reserve Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, presented by the Hawaiian Islands to be held for the first time at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev., March 9-13. The company worked with the Big West to create a positive and impactful experience for student-athletes inside the venue and for fans following the event over digital and social channels.

“Given the sacrifices our student-athletes have made this season, we want to make sure the 2021 Air Force Reserve Big West Basketball Championships presented by The Hawaiian Islands has the look and feel of a really big-time event,” says Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly. “The team at Venue Edge have been a great partner in helping us create a first rate experience digitally and throughout the venue.”

Venue Edge created a new design look and animations for all of the in-venue elements seen on the video and LED fascia boards throughout the arena. They also created elements seen throughout the Mandalay Bay complex to promote the Big West Championships. The new design brought together the look and style of the city into the arena. Since 2001, the Big West Conference championships have been held in Anaheim, Calif. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, the tournament will be moved to Las Vegas, Nev., for the first time since 1995.

“It was great to partner with the Big West for the first time and to be able create an exciting experience for everyone at the championships in Las Vegas,” says Venue Edge Founder David Saphirstein. “With this being Dan’s first championship as Commissioner of the Big West, we wanted to create an exciting atmosphere and be part of all that’s new for the conference.”
