CBS Sports Gets Set for Full 21-Game Schedule of 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup

CBS Sports will feature cross-platform coverage of the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup presented by Secret Deodorant across the CBS Television Network, CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, and CBS Sports Digital. The 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup will kick off on Friday, April 9 (8:30 PM, ET) on CBS Sports Network as the Houston Dash face the Chicago Red Stars in a rematch of the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup final.

The 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup will consist of 21 matches, with the final airing on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ on Saturday, May 8 (1:00 PM, ET). In total, four matches will air on CBS Sports Network. Every other match will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S.

This season, the NWSL has added two new clubs in Kansas City and Racing Louisville FC. Kansas City will play their inaugural match against Portland Thorns FC on Friday, April 9 (10:30 PM, ET) on Paramount+. On Tuesday, April 6 (7:00 PM, ET), CBS Sports Network will air a one-hour special titled NWSL Challenge Cup 2020: The Original Bubble. Through exclusive footage and interviews, the special explores the inaugural Challenge Cup as the NWSL became the first U.S. team sport to return to action amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Chad Fondiller is the producer.

Throughout the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup, CBS Sports will provide highlights, analysis and pre- and post-match coverage on CBS Sports HQ, the 24/7 streaming sports news network, featuring analyst Sandra Herrera and reporter Jenny Chiu discussing the top moments and stories of the day. Editorial coverage throughout the tournament will also be featured on CBSSports.com and in the CBS Sports app.
