Turner Sports SVP, Digital Hania Poole Takes Deep Dive Into “NCAA March Madness Live” Redesign
Poole to offer an in-depth look at upcoming SVG Sports OTT Forum (April 29)
The 2021 edition of March Madness is in the books and for the team at Turner Sports it was another successful effort on the streaming side.
For the tenth straight edition of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, fans were treated to streaming access to every game through the popular app NCAA March Madness Live. This year’s version of the platform was a completely redesign from top to bottom. From the front-facing design to the backend video delivery, MML took the platform to the next level.
As a driver of the redesign, the March Madness Live product team initiated a 10-month research project, using both qualitative and quantitative analysis to draw fresh conclusions as to what fans want from a platform of this class.
“While our core is video — and that’s the cornerstone — [we wanted to determine] what is a meaningful experience with other fans in these platforms,” says Hania Poole, SVP, digital, Turner Sports. “We are closely evaluating that as the landscape changes. Frankly, it’s not that the live game doesn’t matter anymore; it’s [that the] people in those experiences and how they connect with each other matter even more.”
To receive a comprehensive look at the redesign of the March Madness Live platform, join Turner Sports’ Hania Poole in a keynote conversation at the SVG Sports OTT Forum. The virtual event will be hosted on April 29.
