SVG SportsTech On Demand: Broadcast Management Group’s Todd Mason on the Surge in Remote Efforts and the REMI Broadcast Hub

While the 2021 NAB Show has been moved to October, the spring season will still feature a cavalcade of new product releases and groundbreaking news coming out of the broadcast technology sector. In an effort to keep the video-production community informed, SVG is hosting a series of SportsTech On Demand video interviews throughout April, May, and June with executives from the industry’s top technology vendors.

Founded in 2005, Broadcast Management Group (BMG) specializes in producing live news, sports, entertainment and awards shows. BMG has six divisions, Live Multicamera Production, Creative Services, Event Management, Systems Integration, and long-term production staffing. The company also has a sports packaging division.

In this interview, BMG’s CEO Todd Mason discusses the rise of REMI (remote integration) technology and the workflow built around the concept of centralized technology and decentralized staffing. BMG is utilizing this new workflow model to leverage staffing across the country while having the show produced at their Las Vegas REMI Broadcast Hub. Todd goes inside the new REMI Broadcast Hub workflows and offers his thoughts on the impact of REMI production on producing sporting events.
