Activision Blizzard Esports, Fox Sports, and YES Network will take a deep dive into their respective operations at SVG’s Remote Production Workflows Forum, which kicks off today at 2 p.m. ET. In addition to this trio of Keynotes, this two-day event (May 12-13) will spotlight how sports networks, leagues, production service providers, and technology providers are confronting the challenges of production in the age of COVID, how production teams can work as one despite being in different locations, and the tools that can make a difference. Day 1: YES Network, Activision Blizzard Esports, and Remote Production Perspectives

Like all sports networks, the YES Network worked hard to figure out how to allow its announcing teams to work from different locations but yet feel connected despite not being together in a broadcast booth. At 2 p.m. ET today, YES Network’s Jared Boshnack and Mike Webb will discuss how their remote announcing philosophy has evolved, some of the technology that makes a difference, and the future of off-tube announcing.

Then at 4 p.m. ET today, Activision Blizzard Esports’ Ryan Cole and Corey Smith will go inside their trailblazing remote workflows and how they are leveraging the cloud. After an Overwatch League season unlike any before it, Activision Blizzard Esports’ Broadcast Technology Group is looking to build on the cloud-based workflows deployed in 2020 to serve online gameplay this year. An early pioneer of cloud workflows, ABE took it to the next level last year when Overwatch League shifted to online tournaments because of the pandemic and will continue to embrace the cloud even after LAN events resume.

Day 1 will also feature a Perspectives in Remote Production Workflows panel featuring executives from CBS Sports, Fox Sports, MLB Network, Broadcast Management Group, and VidOvation; The Future of Remote Production Technology panel featuring Canon, EEG, Panasonic, The Switch, and Veritone; and an NFLPA Case Study presented by WorldStage.

Day 2: Inside the Fox Sports Vault, Best Practices for Decentralized Production, and Technology Focus

Day 2 kicks off at 2 p.m. ET off with a Keynote from Fox Sports’ Kevin Callahan on the Fox Sports Vault facility, which has become a core part of the sports production process during the COVID-19 pandemic and now it is in use for a second MLB and NASCAR season. Learn how the Vault workflows continue to evolve, what they mean for the Fox Sports production teams, and more.

Day 2 also features a panel entitled It’s About Team Work: Best Practices and Technologies for Decentralized Productions featuring Fox Sports, Grass Valley, Haivision, Lawo and Nevion; an NEP case study from Haivision; and a Tech Focus panel on Remote Replay, Post-Production, and Graphics Workflows with speakers from EVS, MPE, Never. No, and Studio Network Solutions (SNS).
