SVG SportsTech On Demand: Canon’s Ryan Snyder and Josh Stoner on New Camera Lenses, Updates to Product Systemization

While the 2021 NAB Show has been moved to October, the spring season will still feature a cavalcade of new product releases and groundbreaking news coming out of the broadcast technology sector. In an effort to keep the video-production community informed, SVG is hosting a series of SportsTech On Demand video interviews throughout April, May, and June with executives from the industry’s top technology vendors.

Canon continues to innovate and expand it’s Broadcast and Cinema lens lineup, adding mid-range focal length lenses like the CJ20ex5 and CJ17ex6.2 and the Cine Servo CN-E10x25 to their already robust UHD lens lineup. The company has also been very busy in systemization of the Cine cameras, working to bring special technologies like Dual Pixel AF to meet the demands for Large Format in the sports world, especially for Shallow Depth of Field applications. In this interview, Ryan Snyder, Senior Specialist, Product Management Team, Cinema EOS and Professional Video Cameras; and Josh Stoner, Senior Specialist, Product Management Team, BCTV and Cinema Lenses, provide an overview of these new tech additions and highlight the latest developments in systemization.
