Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Hires Industry Vet Christy King as SVP of Digital Strategy

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has brought on industry veteran Christy King as its Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy. King will create and lead Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s Digital Strategy team, focusing on optimizing the company’s explosive subscriber growth and expanding its live event distribution technologies for digitally sophisticated, worldwide fans.

“It’s exciting for our team to have Christy’s expertise at Bare Knuckle Fighting Cham- pionship. She is a proven sports and entertainment veteran who has been at the fore- front of highly respected, cutting-edge digital sports efforts for years.” says David Feldman, President of BKFC. “Our leadership team and investors are thrilled that Christy brings expertise and leadership that will translate to forward-looking digital technology to excite and engage fight fans around the world.”

King previously served as the VP of Technology R&D for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has served as a highly respected media industry technology consultant for the last five years.

King led the technology research and development efforts for the UFC during the period of their explosive growth. She worked closely with many leading vendors on systems development to publish text, photos, video, and data, to a variety of internet-connected distribution platforms. She supported department leaders across the organization in researching and managing technology vendors who proposed solutions to solve challenges across all departments. Her primary responsibility was on-going research and development into metadata publishing and video delivery technologies for emerging OTT platforms, worldwide mobile devices, game consoles, and any other emerging technology capable of video and audio playback.

Kings early career gave her keen insight into live and on-demand video production. She is a multi-award-winning producer, writer, and editor in documentary-style and commercial production. In her time working in live television news, she saw the massive power soon to come to content creators as she launched and managed the station’s first 24/7 news website, working with the “spots and dots” sponsorship sales team to transition to a fully digital sales team.

“I know first-hand how important passion is, and BKFC has it in spades.” King says. “I love scaling and building out digital technologies and nailing an ROI. David Feldman and his BKFC team are incredibly honest and passionate fight fans. We have a lot of great things happening at BKFC, and I look forward to helping create a smart and successful media powerhouse.”
