Syracuse University Adds Daktronics Curved, Narrow Pixel Pitch LED Media Wall at Schine Student Center

To deliver a new curved LED video wall for Syracuse University’s Schine Student Center, Daktronics partnered with Diversified to design, manufacture and install the school’s new media wall for the 2021 spring semester.

“As the centerpiece of the newly renovated Schine Student Center, the video wall allows us to build community through shared experiences such campus programming and athletic events,” said Christine Scollay, interim director of Syracuse University’s Student Centers & Programming Services. “The video board has helped us create a fresh and relevant space for students.”

The narrow pixel pitch LED video wall measures approximately 12.5 feet high by 14 feet wide and features 1.5-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver high-resolution imagery to students and other audiences inside the Schine Student Center. It curves to align with the architecture of the building and floor layout for a seamless design and integration.

“Diversified has a longstanding relationship with Daktronics and a history of delivering larger-than-life displays that immerse audiences in exciting content,” says Tom Spearman, executive vice president of Diversified. “From connecting fans to the big game to engaging students in everyday campus life, solutions such as this video wall at Syracuse are taking the college experience to a whole new level.”

The display will be used to show live feeds of sporting events as well as sports television and Syracuse-specific programming. It is a versatile technology that can be used to host Esports events and also has the ability to show a wide variety of content including live and recorded video, graphics and animations, sponsorship content, and screen sharing for special events.

“This project is a perfect example of how Daktronics can collaborate with AV integrators, such as our great partners at Diversified, to deliver a masterpiece for our customers,” said Scott Willson, Daktronics sales representative. “To deliver on Syracuse’s timeline and desired design, we worked closely with Diversified and the result is nothing short of stunning. We’re thrilled with the outcome and look forward to seeing the university using their new video wall for their many events.”

Daktronics offers a line of narrow pixel pitch LED displays ranging from 2.5-millimeters down to 0.7-millimeter line spacings. This product line brings expansive opportunities to those spaces commonly associated with LCD technology to create luxurious environments, share artistic digital content or show detailed, high-quality video.
