Parleh Media Group Taps Bitcentral’s FUEL to Power Canada’s First Sports Betting Broadcast Network

Bitcentral’s FUEL video management and distribution platform is powering Canada’s first sports betting broadcast network, Parleh TV.

Owned by The Parleh Media Group, Parleh TV is a free ad-supported television (FAST) channel built around daily shows and segments from The Parleh, which launched in June. FUEL enables The Parleh to present its content in an easy, lean-back, way for viewers and to curate streams that are always relevant. The strategy is a more engaged viewer, longer viewing sessions, and more revenue opportunities through advertising and sponsorships.

The free, non-stop service will cover the biggest sporting events for Canadians, from Montreal to Toronto to Vancouver. It will include content such as Parleh Today, Parleh Picks, Footy Talks, Five A Side, Fast Money EPL, and Spreadzies. To coincide with the start of the NHL regular season on October 12th, the Puck Talks show will make its debut along with on-the-street segments in the seven Canadian NHL markets. Beyond sports coverage, Parleh TV will also be home to content that crosses over into other areas of popular culture and betting education.

FUEL is a next generation video management and distribution platform for broadcasters, digital publishers and media companies that unifies different types of video content, including VOD, live, and advertising, into a single live stream of broadcast quality. Using automated dynamic playlists, FUEL makes it easier to manage, publish, and monetize large volumes of content, thereby decreasing time, effort and cost for Parleh.

“We started The Parleh to help make sports betting fun for fans. FUEL has helped us accelerate taking this to a whole new level with Parleh TV,” says Kevin Kennedy, President of Parleh Media Group. “FUEL provides our team with all the tools we need to turn our loyal fans into engaged viewers while creating new revenue opportunities. As we enter this new phase in digital video that brings us closer to broadcast levels of quality and viewer experience, Bitcentral’s depth of expertise is invaluable to power our quantum leap in engagement.”

“We are thrilled to be working with The Parleh on this innovative project to reach millions of sports fans with their unique content, which is perfectly aligned to support the rapid growth of sports betting,” says Greg Morrow, General Manager of FUEL. “Our FUEL solution will deliver a broadcast quality user experience to The Parleh viewers and provide a scalable platform for the syndication of The Parleh content across many channels.”
